Escheat Notices
In accordance with Pennsylvania law, once an account becomes dormant for over three years, we must send any funds in those accounts to the Pennsylvania State Treasury as Unclaimed Property.
We have recently started our annual Escheat process. Initial letters were sent to members who have dormant accounts that are in jeopardy of being escheated to the State.
If you are a Member who has received an Escheat notice, we encourage you to reactivate your account and take advantage of the full array of financial services that the Credit Union has to offer. Membership with Freedom Credit Union allows you to have access to lower loan rates, higher dividends and fewer fees.
As always, your membership is important to us and we would like to help you remain a valued Member. To reactivate your account, simply sign the letter sent to you and return it to us in the enclosed postage-paid envelope. You can also reactivate your account by performing a transaction (deposit, withdrawal, transfer of funds) within the next thirty (30) days.
If you have any questions, please call Member Services at 215-612-5900.
