Earn Money With Our Refer-A-Member Program!
As a member owned financial cooperative, your credit union is strengthened with each new member who joins. Once you are a member, you are a member for life and can enjoy the benefits of lower loan rates and higher deposit rates, along with personalized service and local lending decisions. Anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or volunteers in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties can join, along with relatives of current members.
We believe in giving back to our members, and offer up to $100 for each member and any person they refer who becomes a member*. There is no limit to how many people a member can refer or how much a member can earn from referring friends and family.
Here’s how it works:
Each member has a unique referral code. You can access and share your code in both online and mobile banking.
In the Freedom CU Mobile App: Select “More” in the bottom corner after logging in. Under “Services”, you will see “Refer a Member”. There you will find your unique referral code you can share with anyone who qualifies for membership, and you can even select “Share Your Code” to instantly share your code via email, text, or social media.
In Online Banking: Select “Tools” from the top menu, then “Refer a Member”. You can directly email your code or easily click to copy the code.
How the referral bonus works:
- When a member refers a new member, both receive $25 if a savings account is opened.
- If there referred member also opens a checking account with e-statements and a debit card, both get an additional $25.
- If the referred member completes a direct deposit, both get an additional $50.

*Members will receive a maximum of up to $100 per New Member / Referring Member relationship. The incentive is only for new member accounts, not new accounts for existing members or joint members and is based on account openings, not applications. Each person can only be a new Member once. Retroactive referrals will not be eligible. Must be 18 years or older at the time the account is opened. All criteria must be met and/or completed within 45 days of account opening. If criteria is met and the referring member is in good standing, incentive will be paid as the criteria is met throughout that 45 day period. Incentive for Direct Deposit will be paid once the Direct Deposit has been processed and verified. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) on Freedom’s Primary Savings account is 0.60%. The rate listed is the rate that the Credit Union anticipates paying as of 01/01/2023. Fees may reduce earnings. $5 is required to open and maintain a Primary Savings account and to be eligible to receive up to $100 in New Member/Referral incentives. The incentive will be a taxable dividend on the 1099 Form we will send you in January. Payment of taxes on incentive will be the responsibility of the recipient.
